We Care About Earthquake Disaster :)

Earthquake magnitude 8.8 Richter scale that shook Chile will change the entire Earth's rotation and shorten the length of day on our planet, according to a NASA scientist quoted by Space.com.
Chile earthquake recorded as the seventh strongest earthquake in history would seem to shorten the long days on Planet Earth to 1.26 milliseconds, said research scientist Richard Gross of the Jet Population Laboratory, NASA, at Pasadena, California.
Computer model used Gross and his colleagues to determine the impact of the earthquake effects Chile also found that the earthquake appeared to have shifted the axis of Planet Earth until approximately 3 inches.

Massive earthquake has changed the days on Earth and its axis in the past. 2004 Sumatra earthquake of magnitude of 9.1 on the Richter scale, triggering tsunami waves, has been shortened days to 6.8 microseconds and shifted the axis of the Earth to about 2.76 inches.

Chile earthquake is smaller than the Sumatra earthquake vibrations, but the Chile Earthquake impact on Planet Earth is greater because of its location in the middle latitudes of Earth, not at the equator like the Sumatra earthquake.

Wow! Chile earthquake killed more than 700 people and causing destruction all over the country in South America. I am very sad to hear that. :(

AND, OTHER EARTHQUAKE DISASTER IS..
Haiti 2010 earthquake, which occurred with the power of 7 on the Richter Scale with epicenter 16 km from Port-au-Prince at 4:53:09 AM local time (21:53:09 UTC) on January 12, 2010. Epicenter located at a depth of 10 km. United States Geological Survey said the earthquake-aftershock with strength 5 on the Richter Scale.
Most of the city of Port-au-Prince were damaged including the Palace of the President of Haiti, Haiti Parliament House, the Cathedral of Port-au-Prince, and a hospital. United Nations Mission headquarters reported the United Nations Stabilization for Haiti also suffered damage.

PS. Dedicated to Haiti and Chili. God bless :]
